
Phnom Penh Techo International Airport to resume full flight operations from 8am on September 9
Cambodia National Airlines has announced to all air travelers that Phnom Penh International Airport, also known as Potchefstroom Airport, will be completely closed from 00:01 am on September 9, 2025, and will resume domestic flights from Phnom Penh Techo International Airport in Takhmao City, Kandal Province from 08:00 am onwards.
Cambodia National Airlines has officially announced to all air travelers that under the wise leadership of the Royal Government of Cambodia, Phnom Penh is preparing to welcome the opening of a new, world-class international airport, Phnom Penh Techo International Airport (KTI).

Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) will be completely closed from 00:01 am on September 9, 2025. All flights of Cambodia National Airways will be transferred from Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) to Techo International Airport (KTI) on 9 September 2025 at 08:00 AM.
To facilitate this change, Cambodia National Airways would like to inform you that our sales system will be updated to include the new airport code KTI (for flights to or from Phnom Penh) for all bookings from 1 August 2025 onwards, especially for flights with travel dates from 9 September 2025 onwards.

Techo International Airport has three phases: Phase 1, costing nearly $2 billion, will be completed by 2025 and can accommodate approximately 13 million passengers per year. Phase 2 will be completed by 2030 and can accommodate approximately 30 million passengers per year, and the final phase will be completed by 2050 and can accommodate up to 50 million passengers per year.
A report from the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation shows that Cambodia received more than 3.65 million domestic and international air passengers in the first half of 2025, an increase of 20% compared to the same period in 2024. The State Secretariat for Civil Aviation has predicted that air passenger transport will increase to 7.5 million and 80,000 tons of cargo in 2025.
